How to get Rid of Fine Lines and Wrinkles?

PREVENTION:

IF YOU ARE STARTING EARLY, YOU CAN HELP PREVENT THE APPEARANCE AND SEVERITY OF FINE LINES AND WRINKLES BY FOLLOWING A FEW STRATEGIES:

  1. Have a skincare routine. One of the most important things is a great skincare routine. Eighty percent of skincare happens at home so it important to have a regular routine with great products.

  2. Use great products. Products with high quality ingredients will do more for your skin than you might think.  Products rich in antioxidants such as vitamin C help prevent damage from sun and toxins.

  3. Sun protection. Speaking of sun damage, regular use of sunscreen is the first line of defense against the sun. Using products rich in anti-oxidants can help combat damage that occurs, but reducing sun exposure is critical. Sun exposure is the most damaging and wrinkle causing environmental factor we face.

  4. Intensive facial treatments. Regular facials keep your skin exfoliated and replenished. A qualified aesthetician can recommend treatments and products that fit your individual skin needs and help you maintain a beautiful complexion.

  5. Hydrate. This might seem like a no brainer, but it makes a huge difference! Stay hydrated from the inside out. Drink lots of water and plenty of fluids, eat lots of fruits and vegetables and use a good hydrating moisturizer.

TREATMENT:

THERE ARE SEVERAL TREATMENTS AND PRODUCTS THAT GREATLY IMPROVE THE APPEARANCE OF FINE LINES AND WRINKLES.

Products for more advanced skin care include retinols, glycolic acid and lactic acid. Treatments include radiofrequency skin tightening, Ultherapy, medical grade facials, and cosmetic injectables including Botox/Xeomin and dermal fillers including Juvéderm, Restylane, Radiesse and Sculptra.

  1. Products for more advanced skin care. These include retinol, glycolic acid and lactic acid.

The products we carry in the office include Sanitas brand retinol resurfacer, glycolic citrus cleanser and vitamin c serums by Mad Hippie and Sanitas brand.  Sanitas brand is spa grade and Mad Hippie is over the counter, organic and vegan and high in antioxidants.

  2. Radiofrequency skin tightening. This procedure reduces fine lines and wrinkles by heating the tissue to promote more aggressive collagen production in the skin resulting in increased elasticity, firmness and plumpness and thicker skin. This is a great treatment to get to the root cause of aging skin. Over time and age we lose collagen which causes our skin to droop and wrinkles to form.  This treatment also goes very well in hand with cosmetic injectables.

  3. Ultherapy for lifting and tightening. Ultherapy is the only non-invasive treatment cleared by the FDA for lifting the skin on the neck, chin, and brow, and improving lines and wrinkles on the décolletage. Ultherapy uses microfocused ultrasound to lift and tighten loose skin over time, without any downtime.

  4. Medical facials. These facials are all business, but the results make the lack of pampering an even trade. Medical grade facials such as IPL skin rejuvenation, microdermabrasion, dermaplaning, chemical peels and microneedling rejuvenate the skin, increase collagen, exfoliate dead skin cells and promote hydration to the surface of the skin resulting in plumpness and a beautiful youthful glow.  These are also very helpful in getting rid of unwanted age and sun spots.

  5. Cosmetic injectables. These are the creme de la creme of anti-aging.  They may not necessarily get to the root of how and why your skin is aging, but they will almost instantly take away most lines and wrinkles.  Injectables include the following:

    1. Botox, or Botulism toxin A (also offered in the generic form Xeomin), is an injection that paralyzes muscles in the face preventing them from being expressed and therefore causing lines and wrinkles.

    2. Dermal fillers contain ingredients that add fullness to areas that have thinned due to aging. This thinning is common in the cheeks, lips, and around the mouth. Dermal fillers can restore lost volume, smooth lines and soften creases, or enhance facial contours. The results are temporary, lasting 12 to 18 months or longer before the body gradually and naturally absorbs the particles.  We offer localized anesthesia so you have a comfortable and relaxing experience.
